The Baťa Canal|
The Baťa Canal is a historic waterway connecting Otrokovice with Sudoměřice through the beautiful valley of the Morava River. Along the way you will see secluded nature, distinctive rural villages, and towns full of historic architecture.
The fifty-two-kilometer-long Otrokovice – Rohatec Waterway, as it is officially called, originally served to transport lignite coal to the Baťa factories. Today you can admire this unique technical monument from the water’s surface, possibly accompanied by some wine tasting, or maybe food from the grill and some beer right there on the boat. One popular outing is to combine the boat ride with a cycling trip to points nearby, or visiting the historical town centers of Uherské Hradiště or Veselí nad Moravou.
